Daytons Field Trip to the Fire Station

Dayton this past Monday went on his second field trip of the year to the fire station.  Since I went to the last one, Dayton wanted his Dad to go with him to this one.   When Jason came home and I asked how it went all he would say was,"Dayton was CRAZY!"  Although I wasn't there it sure does look like he had a great time.

Collen Mary Simkins 1932-2011

Jason's Grandma Simkins passed away from cancer last Thursday (3-10-11) after a long battle of cancer.  We had her viewing Sunday evening and her Funeral on Monday morning in Hurricane, Utah.  Grandma Simkins was a very loving, happy, over the top person.  She was fearless when it came to meeting new people.  Any new person in her path was an instant friend.

Jana, Janell, Jason, Megan
My personal first experience of meeting her, she tried to kiss me on the lips and i had to turn my head so she kissed my cheek. I knew it was out of love but it was pretty overwhelming.  Colleen was an example of being Christ like.  She tried to preach the gospel whenever and however she could.  If there was anyone who was fully ready to go to heaven it would have been her.  Colleens' service was very calm and peaceful.  (unlike anything that I have ever been to) We love you Colleen.  Until we meet again.

March Warmth

We decided to hit the park today because it was a balmy 47 degrees out side with no wind.  We didnt wear jackets or coats.  It was so beautiful!  I was great to see Jace learn how to play on big play ground sets.  It was also great to see Dayton run out some of his energy build-up.  We were at the park for 2 hours or more and even after that long I had to fight the kids to get into the car.  They could have stayed outside all day.

I bought the kids some new springs cloths.  After I had Dayton to school and Jace dressed and ready to go for the day, I decided to catch a few photos of him.  He poor little face is red and sore from dry skin and him drooling all day long.  My favorite its picture 1.   Picture 2 would have been totally amazing if it wasn't so blurry, and picture 3 would have been better if his shirt wasn't covered in drool.   But I guess you cant have it all right? Considering it was spur of the moment I think they turned out rather well.

Dinosaur Museum Field Trip

Dayton had his very first field trip today.  It was fun seeing how he acted in class.  He wasn't as crazy as I was expecting.  Both preschool classes were present for the field trip.  That made a total of 18 kids.  Dayton's favorite part about the museum was the T. Rex.  Jace enjoyed the field trip today as well.  He wasn't strapped in his stroller, but he stayed in it almost the whole time till the end.  Jace really liked the animal room.  He would growl at all of the lions and bears.   I am glad I could attend to this very special day in Dayton's preschool life.
