My kids do funny things to entertain themselves... such as wearing snow hats around the house while they are watching tv while it is over 90 degrees outside.

Spur Of the Moment Purchases

 On Saturday morning we decided we wanted Dayton and Jace to have a four wheeler of their own.  So we looked at brand news ones and we looked at used ones and we bought a used one.  After we bought it we decided that you cant just have one four wheeler and we went and bought one for me and Jason to share.    We got killer deals on both machines...good enough that we were able to pay cash.

My dad, Kari and Shae came up for the weekend and arrived here at 3:00 pm on Saturday.  They brought up their four wheelers with them. We loaded up their bikes onto our trailer we headed to the dunes.

The dunes we quiet eventful.  Shae fell off our new 450, Jason and I rolled the 450 on a razor-back at night,  and we broke the suspension off of the front of our Ranger.  Luckily we were all okay.  Jason and I are stiff but we have no marks to prove what happened.  Shaelynn did have marks to prove that she fell off. 
The kids had a great time.  They loved their new toy.  I think I might have loved it more!!  I rode the crap out of that thing! Its a riot to ride! 
We got back to my house around midnight after some good hard riding.  If we would have known we were going to have that much fun we would have camped the night!  Dad, Kari, and Shae left the following morning around noon.  Me, Jason and the boys headed to the dunes after they left.  We just couldn't get enough.   Here is to the future and lots of rides on our new toys!!

The newest addition to our family

Since I have been really young i have been allergic to cats.  Its something to do with their fur...it makes my eyes swell up and they make me sneeze like a crazy woman!!  So Last week I was feeling like i wanted something new... a change or something.  I told Jason of my desire for something and he told me I could get whatever I wanted.   Well I started off that I wanted a baby and Jason said NO. 

So I thought about other options.. i didn't want a rabbit cause they stink... I didn't want a turtle cause they carry too many diseses.... i didn't want a bird cause they are too messy and smelly and noisey at night, and i didnt want a dog because I feel like Zoe is more than enough.  Someone brought up getting a cat and i thought.. NO! But it was an idea... So I started looking up hypoallergic cats... and it came across a Sphynx.. a hairless cat! 

It was perfect!!!  I did research on them almost constantly after that.  Looking into their temperments and how to take care of one.  I was hooked!  I wanted one.. not because they are cute (because really they arent...but they do grow on ya) but because there is no hair to clean up....they are supose to be great with kids and dogs AND because they are supose to be really easy to teach to go to the bathroom on the toilet, so I dont have to have a kitty litter in my house!!!

It was a little harder to find a breeder who had kittens avaliable... I found one that I liked in NYC but I really didnt want to have a kitten shipped that far.  Then I found one in California...then I decided I didnt want to have one shipped at all.  Then I started to look for breeders in Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming.  I found only ONE.  It was a mother and daughter who owned and ran the cattery. They actually had kittens that were just born and then kittens that were ready to go home.  Orginally i wanted a kitten that was just born, and i was going to wait for it to be 14 weeks old before I could take it home.  But Jason told me that if we went to look at one we were going to take one home and we werent going to go back.  So we went for that idea. 

So on Sunday after the "weekend on the Edge" stuff we headed up to the Logan, UT area to see if this was really what I wanted. At first i wanted a girl but they told me that girls werent as cuddly and that boys were better for snuggling.  They had 6 or 7 males but only 2 were under 6 months old.  After spending time with them both... I picked the one that was 4 months 5 days old.  I went with the younger one because I loved his coloring... He is actually Harlaquin blue.  He was very sweet and loving and i figured the younger the better to adapt to having kids and a dog around.  I paid a small fortune to the breeders and we were off after i signed all the contracts for him. 

Once we got him home he was scared to death. It took him 24 hours to eat or drink.. Thankfully he snapped out of it and turned into a little bundle of fun!  He is so cute and cuddly!!  its like having a baby around where he is little and new and naked!!   Its kinda weird now because when I feel Zoe she actually feels so dirty with all of that hair!  (:  I still have not came up with an official name for him.  Here are a few that we have came up with : Chrome, Billet, Binks, Mojo, Blue, Clutch and Mr. Bigglesworth!   I am leaning towards Chrome today but yesterday I was liking Billet the best.  We will see.  I will keep ya posted on what I name hime offically.  



Weekend on the Edge 2011

Edge products has a customer appreciation weekend where they do truck Dynos, Drag Races and Sled pulls.  This is the second year that we have joined in on the events.  We left Rock Springs Friday morning to get to the drag races to set up our booth (because we are a sponsor).  Drag Races started at 4 pm.  Jason drag raced his 2011 Dodge.  He made it to his second round and lost.  Our good friend Chris Kendall actually won the ET bracket racing out of 72 trucks.  It was really exciting!   We stayed in a hotel in SLC that was paid for by NADM (because we are a sponsor)  It was so nice to stay in a hotel and take a long hot shower and calm down.  Saturday morning we headed to the Dyno competition at the Edge Facilities.  There was a huge turnout.  we were able to see a lot of friends but it was too hot to stay there for too long so after our 3 hours were done there we left and headed to the fair grounds for the sled pull.  The sled pull 2,000 people showed up and it was awesome.  There was tons of magazine coverage.  Jason was even on TV on CW 30.  Chris Kendall also won 1st place in his sled pull in the Stock class.  (a win in both events was huge.  Which is really great because he is running all of addicted performances stickers!!)  Jason had a great run till the end where we heard a big POP!  It sounded like we popped a turbo but we actually split our block in half.  It was a sad moment.  Which means we will be done for the season if not for a few years.  We have to start at phase 1 again.  The next time we will be on the track it will be with a screaming truck that will be built and modified from the ground up.  We didn't get to leave the fair grounds to our next hotel till 1 AM.  We were so exhausted and sad with the turn out of the truck.  We slept good considering (well me and the boys did... Jason said he had nightmares all night long about his truck).  The following morning in the hotel breakfast room was my boys highlight of weekend ...  It was the hotels pancake machine!!  This thing was awesome.  You just pushed a start button and it made fresh pancakes in about a minute.  It had to have been one of my high lights of the weekend also!!  I cant get over how far technology has came.  I started telling people how amazing it was and every ones response was "those machines have been around for a few years".  In my own defense this was the 3rd time (1st being Elko NV. and 2nd being the night before)  that I have been in a hotel since Jason's and my honeymoon. 
Although the weekend had a really sad turn out for addicted...We cant help but be relieved that we didn't pour more money into the motor this winter and have it pop and break next year on the first pull.  Kinda a blessing in disguise if you will. 

New paddles

We took the power wheels out with us and the boys drove it around while we were resting.

We took the ranger out to the sand dunes on Saturday to try out our new long arm kit and the new paddles that we bought for my birthday.  They rocked!!  we could cruise over the dunes at like 25-30 mph and we could make it up most hills.  It was so nice to get where we wanted to go with out getting stuck.   The weather was perfect and the boys were so good.  We stayed out there for 6 hours or so and then we came home.

Dayton training wheels free!!

Dayton decared to me and Jason last friday that he was 4 years old and 4year olds dont have training wheels.  So me and Jason gladly took them off.  Dayton was an instant natural.  I think he has been ready for a while.  As soon as he got on and got started.... he was off!!  After a half hour of riding Dayton was trying to ride with no arms and he was trying to get his bike to jump.   Way To Go Dayton!!! We are so proud of you!!

Rock Springs Sled Pull 2011

Wyomings big show was this past weekend.  The Hinder concert was on Friday.  I hired a babysitter for my kids and Macade while the adults went.  It was so much fun just to be grown ups and hang out.

On Saturday the sled pulls started at 12:00.   It was a long hot day in the sun but it was totally worth it.  We were one of the sponsors for NADM and they advertised Addicted Performance Diesel like crazy.  Our sled pull went great... we did not win...we took 3rd.  But it was a solid pull for us and we were happy with it.  That evening we went to dinner at Coyote Creek and then afterwards we went to the fair. 

It was so great to have our families support here in Rock Springs. 

Macade's 3rd Birthday

 My little nephew Macade has his 3rd birthday this past week.  Me, Dayton and Jace made the drive down to Utah for his party. 

 Stacee had all of the kids stick their heads in this poster and pose for pictures.  Jace just sat there forever letting people take his picture he is so funny.

 of course Dayton wasn't so easy to get a picture of....it was a quick smile and he was gone.

 The birthday party theme was pirates.  Stacee made a map of things for all of the kids to do.  Dayton loved the water balloon station

Afterwards we went to a pizza joint to go and eat.  They had arcades and we won some tickets to buy these awesome mustaches!  Now we can pull of being creeps!

Elko NV. Sled Pull

Me and Jason have been married for almost 5 years and the last time that we went and spend the night somewhere was... almost five years ago on our honeymoon.    We decided that there will never be another time better than now and we went to the Elko, NV sled pull by our selves.
We drove down to Lehi on Friday around 7 and dropped off the kids with Stacee.  Jason and I after that went and ate dinner at Texas Roadhouse.  We started to make our way to Wendover after that.  Wendover was fun.  We stayed in the Nugget hotel.  Jason gambled and I watched.  As soon as 11 came we were done and we went back to the room and slept.  On Saturday morning we hit the breakfast buffet and then headed for Elko.   The drive was nice.  Its amazing how fast you can get somewhere when you don't have to stop and take pee breaks and snack breaks ever 40 miles.  Once we were to Elko we headed to the movie theater to watch "Cowboys and Aliens"  which was great.  Then he headed off of wash the truck and went to the sled pulls. 
The pulls were better than we expected.  The crowd was bigger than it has ever been (which was still tiny) and there was only 24 trucks that signed up to pull.  There was 3 in Jason's class.  Jason pulled first and the weight on the transfer sled never moved so we had to repull.  Our second pull still went great!!  we pulled 334 ft.  enough for 2nd.  But it was huge for us because the truck has been running great!!  After the pulls were done we started out search for a hotel..we couldn't find anything.  So we went to dinner at Red Lion.  It was delish.  After our meal was done we headed towards wendover to find somewhere to stay.  We found nothing.  the closest hotel with vacancy was in SLC so we had no choice but to sleep in the truck.  It SUCKED!! but we tried to stay positive about it.  We slept 6 hour or so and decided that it wasn't that great of sleeping and we figured that breakfast sounded great.  We made it to wendover and ate at the Montego Bay breakfast buffet.  It was so good and it made us feel way better.  After breakfast we gambled some more.  I only lost $3 bucks...Jason lost $170.  It turns out that I am a way better gambler than he is.  We picked up the kids around 2 stopped by the Moon's house and then Jason's Dad's house and then we were on our way homeward bound. 

I missed our kids terribly but I couldn't deny that I loved spending time with Jason.  It was so awesome to just worry about each other.  We had an amazing time.  I have missed him so much and I cant wait for our next adventure alone together.  A huge thanks goes out to my family who all chipped in to watch the kids.  Me and Jason's get away would have not been possible without them.
