Sandhollow over Thanksgiving weekend

We went to sandhollow on Friday and then back again on Saturday.  We had fun.....now that I think of it... we ALWAYS have fun!
The weather was perfect.  low to mid 60's almost the entire time.  It was nice that we could wear light jackets almost the entire time.

We brought along Ethan, Dave and Janells oldest son.  He was at first scared of everything but as the day progressed on he started to have fun.

Thanksgiving 2011

This year we traveled down to Southern Utah.  First we had Thanksgiving with My mom at her In-Laws house in Cedar city.  It was a nice little family meal.  Jason, Shae and I sat at the small table on the right.  We laughed most of the meal and enjoyed each others company.
We caught a few pictures before the feast began.
The kids enjoyed some tickle time with Shae.
 More Pictures
And this picture above is priceless.  Its an action shot.  Jace had just barley thew his head back hitting moms head.  As mom was flinging her head back after the blow Jason caught the picture.  LOL  its not funny that it happened..its just funny that we caught it with a picture.
Here is a picture of the table Dayton and Jace sat at for dinner.  They enjoyed having a small kid table.  Jace enjoyed feeding moms other grandson Aiden.  It was cute to watch.  Who would have ever known that Jace was so loving and caring.

After we were done with Moms dinner we headed to the Simkins Family Thanksgiving dinner in Hurricane.  It was really nice.  The family was all very welcoming and warm.  The kids had lots of fun playing with all of their cousins.   Jace actually had too much fun.  He was jumping on a bed and fell off and landed on something and knocked his two top teeth through his bottom lip. It bled for a long time.  His top teeth are so wiggly I doubt he will have them much longer.  I am surprised they are still even in his mouth!!  Every time he eats he cries in pain that it hurts.  Its so sad!

He's going the distance!!

We had some more BMX races last weekend in South Jordan.  Dayton was excited to race again.  He did very good condsidering it was his first weekend on his new race bike.

He recieved 3 or 4 to last overall (there were 18 kids his age)  They say it normally takes 6 months or so for young kids to understand the concept of racing.  Most of them just do joy rides.
Jace had his first weekend of races also. His class was called the "big wheels".  Parents are allowed to push their children.  Jace raced saturday and sunday and won first both days.  LOL we are so proud of Jason for running so fast!

 Jace with his winning trophy
Here is Dayton in his sunday race.  In this race there are only 5 racers and Dayton is currently holding the 3rd position.  Overall through our weekend.  Dayton recieved 3 trophys and Jace recieved 2.  I think we are going to have to build more shelves in their rooms.
Shaelynn my baby sister raced for her first time and recieved 2-3rd place trophys and 1-2nd place trophy.  She rocked the house for sure!!

Handsome Little Men

Considering we missed out on over 19 Sundays this year due to: sled pulling, vacations, family events, Holidays and Dayton's BMX.  When we went to get out their church clothes everything had grown to small and new ones were in demand. I thought both of them deserved nice outfits.
They were so excited to wear them.  Amazing right?  At least that is what i was thinking.  Jason complains every time we have to get him ready for church still and he is almost 32!!  They boys are getting to the age when posing into awkward positions in really really fun.  My little sister Shaelynn would have came up with a similar pose when she was Dayton's age.  It made me laugh.

Jace can ride a bike!!

My baby can ride a bike with training wheels now.  All it took was a weekend at a BMX track and Jace wanted to ride.  Lucky for us we had Daytons old bike that is too small that works perfect.  Jace Started riding yesterday and has continued forward today!
And of course you have to notice the bare feet.  I did it.. Dayton does it....and now Jace does it!
The line still stands... Whatever Jace sees Dayton doing, Jace has to try it, and do it better.  So Dayton was jumping off of his ramp on his bike and Jace started following right behind.  Hopefully we can get Jace off of training wheels so he can start up the bmx thing this summer when he gets good enough!  Yeah for Jace!! My bike riding 2 year old!!

Daytons first BMX race

Dayton at the start of his first race on Sunday

Dayton at the end of his race where he just barley was passed up for 2nd place.
Dayton with his plaques for 3rd place on Saturday and Sunday.

With Dayton's growing interest of bikes I looked more into the BMX thing and found out there is actually a 5 and under class for him.  So we did more research and found out there were actually indoor events here in Rock Springs.  We jumped on the opportunity and took him out on Friday night.  Dayton's first and second practice runs going down the big ramp he crashed and he didn't want to race on Friday night.  So we took him out again on Saturday and he nailed it and never crashed!  He was against a 5 year old and a 6 year old.  He did great and we were happy with him getting 3rd place in all three heats.
On Sunday he was against a 4 year old and a 5 year old.  In the first heat (the pictures above are the first heat pictures) Dayton held second place the whole time till the very end.  The next 2 heats of the day Dayton took 3rd.  He worked his little guts out.
Dayton loved doing the BMX stuff.  He is really good at it and its nice to have him in a sport that he has chosen.  Because he loved it so much we are going to invest in him a better bike made for racing so he wont have a disadvantage anymore and it will be talent versus talent.
At the end of the events they gave Dayton his plaques for 3rd place for both days and he was THRILLED!  He couldn't wait to get home and show me where he wanted me to put them on his walls.

Halloween 2011

Here is how the boys looked for Halloween this year.  The weather was nice for Wyoming.  We didn't freeze to death to say the least.  The boys made it up our street and down the next before they were complaining that they didn't want to go anymore.  Jace loved trick or treating this year.  He gripped onto his candy pail and wouldn't let it go while Dayton was complaining that he didn't want to carry it anymore.  Dayton would get really upset if people gave him a candy that had nuts in it.  Jace loved any kind of candy that was given to him.
