My Gardens Harvests

Over the weekend while we were in Logan for a sled pull, my garden was busy growing.   I got this much out of my garden on Monday morning.  And I am getting about this much out of it about every 2 or 3 days.   We are so incredibly blessed with having such a huge success with the garden.   I cant wait to add red potatoes and Yukon gold potatoes to the mix next year!  (maybe and few yellow onions too)  I didn't even have to room to add the buckets full of lettuce that i am getting every day still either!  Everyone likes to ask our favorites.. Jason likes it all.  I love everything as well( but if i had to choose i have been loving the carrots, tomatoes and the beets).  Dayton's favorites are the carrots, peas and beets.  Jace loves the tomatoes, peas and beets.   My garden isn't huge like what other people have but I figured I have about 150 sq feet worth of garden space in my flower beds (5 sections at 5x6 some of the sections a bit bigger) and I have utilized every inch.  By the way the season is going i think I will have about 4 weeks left of really good harvest.

Pregnancy update

And to top it off Stacee and megan my sisters are pregnant with me!!

Logan Sled Pull 2012

 The Logan Sled pull is always super fun because there is lots to do to keep the kids busy.  We enjoying going to the zoo.  Here is the kid gang from left to right it goes Macade, Peyton, Jace, Dayton, and Jordan.

 Mom finally made it to her first pull in 2 years.  We were glad to have her there even though she felt like the grand kids didn't know her and she didn't feel like she fit in.

 By the end of the zoo time the kids got some energy out by wrestling Shae.  Dayton and Macade decided to be the Hulk and their shirts had to come off.

 Ed took first place in the Friday night sled pull and Addicted took first place in the big Saturday night show.  We pulled 371 feet!  Jason was so excited as well as his pit crew family.

Jace loves anything sled pull and he wanted his picture in the sled pull tractor.  All the other kids were asleep by this point.  He was also able to walk around and get some autographs. 

Swimming lessons round 1 2012

 Dayton and Jace finally was able to participate in swimming lessons!!  They were so excited!  Dayton went to swimming lessons for 3 weeks. Monday through Thursday from 4:00 to 4:45pm.  Jace attended his swimming lessons every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-6:30pm for 3 weeks also.  
It was a super busy month.  It kept me on my toes everyday and when we wasn't doing swimming lessons on Fridays, Saturday's, and Sundays we were at sled pulls making the weeks seem like they were impossible and way to busy to make it through.  
Dayton in the picture above was him on his last day.  He didn't pass level one but he did great.  he was able to put his head in the water and blow bubbles, hold his breath and pick up a toy on the bottom of the pool front float, back float, and doggie paddle like 2 feet.


 Jace was able to do a front float and a back float in his lessons and blow bubbles under the water.  Jace might have a bit of an advantage where he is younger than Dayton.  This is a picture of Jace on his last day ( I didn't get a picture of jace in the pool because I had to be in the water with him and I didn't want to ruin my camera or phone) and his prize for doing swimming lessons. I bought him and Dayton a treat of their choice out of the vending machine.

I failed the mom and tot swimming lessons class.  I didn't like having my head in the water very much and I proved to be a horrible example when I am more scared then jace.  But swimming gobbles (goggles) sure did help out a little bit with being able to see and not having to close my eyes. 

Addicted Gear

 We finally got on our A-Game here at the shop and ordered kids Addicted shirts and hats.   They kids love our new line.

I think so far Jace has 4 hats and 6 shirts in his wardrobe.  He is just as addicted as his dad!  Dayton was fine with 2 shirts and one hat (he really doesn't like hats very much)   Don't they look SO cute!?!?!

Fossil Butte National Monument 2012

 "Fossil Butte National Monument is a unit of the National Park Service located 15 miles west of Kemmerer, Wyoming, USA. It centers on an extraordinary assemblage of Eocene Epoch (56 to 34 million years ago) animal and plant fossils associated with the smallest lake — Fossil Lake — of the three great lakes which were present at that time in what are now Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado. The other two were lakes were Lake Gosiute and Lake Uinta. "

"Fossil Butte National Monument preserves the best paleontological record of Tertiary aquatic communities in North America and possibly the world, within the 50-million-year-old Green River Formation — the ancient lake bed. Fossils preserved — including fish, alligators, bats, turtles, dog-sized horses, insects, and many other species of plants and animals — suggest that the region was a low, subtropical, freshwater basin when the sediments accumulated, over about a 2 million-year period"

After a long trip to the Afton Sled pulls we wanted to do something fun on our way.  Fossil Butte just happened to be the "something fun".  I think we all enjoyed it.  Dayton loved looking at the fossils.   Jace only like the ones that were horses or crocodiles.  They even will let you go and help find fossils but they only let you do it on a Saturday for eight weekends out of the year.  Its okay though... fossil hunting in July and August just doesn't sound like fun in 100 degree weather.   the museum worked for us just fine!  It was a fun stop and we will have to do it a few more times as the boys get older.

Jace bounces again!

At the first of August Jace wanted to ride horses at his grandpa Stotts house.  Jace's favorite horse is Bucky and Jason saddled the horse up.  It wasn't 3 minutes' worth of time that Jace spent on the horse before Bucky bucked him off.  Jace landed on the side of his face and then buck turned and clipped the back of Jace's head with his hoof.  Jace was super pale and was all dizzy and could walk so we decided the best thing we could do for him was to take him to the emergency room. 

Once at the emergency room Jace became instantly better and just wanted to go home.  The doctor stated yet once again that he bounced and had contusion and we were just supposed to keep an eye on him for possible concussion.  He proved to be okay as the day went on.  This kid is so durable!

Jace training wheel-less

Jace can officially ride a bike without training wheels.  We are so proud of him.  this happened actually in July... I'm just really slow about blogging lately.   We originally bought him a strider bike so he could learn his balance and sure enough he did.  Now he is a riding champ and already working on tricks and racing.  I currently only have videos of the action and no photos but i will post the pictures as soon as i can.

Daytons 5th Birthday

 Dayton is now a 5 year old!  We were going to have a birthday bash at the Tremonton sled pull but there was going to be no kids his age and I didnt want him to be sad about it.  So we had another friend birthday party at the house. 

 Dayton chose the Scooby Doo theme and was set on the Mystery Machine van for his birthday cake. 

 I believe when I counted we had a total of 15 kids there.  It was a pretty good turn out espeically where I only gave some people only a few days notice.

 Dayton was spoiled with gifts.  His friends were super generous.

This is the cute little man with his loot.  This year Jason, Jace and I gave him a BMX pit bike so he could have a better quality bike to ride around the neighborhood and do jumps and such.    Happy 5 Birthday!  Good thing birthdays only come once a year.  Dayton is growing faster than I can stand!
