Silly Mom

My mom always sends me pictures of new clothes, shoes, new hair do's or just anything that she feels I need to see.  Its kinda awesome actually.  She had just dyed her hair back to the brown red color.  She was blonde but I told her I didn't like it cause it mainly just looked grey.  So she changed it.  She always calls to tell me how she is feeling too.  Lately she has been saying she is really emotional and her hormones are outta control.  She will have hours where she is fine and then all of a sudden she will just cry.  She says "I hate the thought of getting old"  a lot.   I just tell her that she is fine.  And normally throw in a  " Don't worry Mom, I still love you, even you are emotional!"    Silly Mom!   Thank you for always keeping me posted on whats going on with you.

Monster Trucks!

Monster trucks came to Rock Springs.   We weren't able to go to the rally, but we were able to stop and look at some of them that were parked around Rock Springs.   The kids love monster trucks so it was really exciting for them.

Jace Naps?

Some things you just have to see to believe.  Jaces school can actually get this kid to nap.   I didn't even know it was possible!!  This is a bonus all around in my book.  I could not believe the difference it made in his attitude through the day afterwards.  He was so happy and pleasant and went to bed so much easier.  I think I can get use to this nap time at school bit!

Melon Success

Although small, the watermelon, Honeydew and the Cantaloupe were a big success in my book.  They were so juicy and sweet.  I will defiantly do them again next year.  Next year I think I will add some compost to the soil half way through growing season to try to get my watermelon to be a bit bigger.  Honeydew and Cantaloupe were regular sized.

Abscessed Tooth

Dayton woke up Monday morning with a big ole swollen mouth.  Turns out he had an abscessed tooth.  He was fine all weekend at the state fair and never had a complaint that a tooth was hurting him.   So back to Utah we went to have a tooth removed.
The tooth was huge!!! I could barely believe it.  It took 2 full vials of the shot medicine to get him numb enough to pull the tooth.  We were there for a total of 2 hours.    This was not a fun experience and was really sad.  Dayton was sad but he was a trooper and he didn't fight any of the process.  So once the tooth was out and the spacer was put in, I took him to the store and bought him a Skylander.
Oh yeah.  Today was actually was Jasons and My Anniversary.   I love you Jason! Maybe next year we will be able to do something fun.

Utah State Fair

We were able to attend the Utah State Fair again this year.  This year I actually walked most of the fair by myself with the three kids.   The state fair is really tricky with kids and a lot of work.  I was really proud of myself.  I never lost my temper or was overwhelmed even once.  kids stayed happy and were so well behaved.
The kids loved this precious little baby calve.
They are looking at a huge turkey
Jace had to ride the horses so Dayton joined in with him.
 Little pro in training
The kids played with some wood and built some structures
Jace worked on his roping or "ringing" ability
If there is sand at any place, Dayton can be entertained.

The boys standing in front of the huge butter sculpture.
Last year Dayton really enjoyed the water bubbles.  So I let the kids do it again this year.   Plus we finally met up with family, so Macade was able to join in on the fun.
For the sled pull.  This was Jasons chance to tie for points champ.  Instead of tying, he melted a piston and broke an axle.  Bye bye points champ 2013.  I guess we are going to have to give it another shot in 2015.  I am pretty sure it will take over a year to built the 6.7 motor.   It was still a great season and it was so fun being neck and neck with Ken Jones in the 2 Wild truck.

New Toy Hauler

We were getting sick of using the race enclosed trailer to go camping in, so we went ahead and bought a 5th wheel toy hauler.  This will haul all of our machines plus it will sleep 10.  We cant wait to have a weekend off so we can go and try it out.

Abundant Growing

In a matter of 4 days I was able to grow a monster of a zucchini!.  I checked on it and it was too small to pick and needed a couple more days, after we got home from the weekend this huge thing was waiting for me.   I probably weighed in at 10 lbs.   I knew Zucchini could grow to be huge but I never let them get to this point because they don't taste as good.   This was completely accidental.  What am I going t do with it you ask?  I am going to make a crap load of Zucchini bread!

I was also able to do some bottling the other night.  I did some pickled beets and some dilly beans!

Jaces First day at Preschool/Daycare!

I was able to get Jace into the Colleges daycare/preschool program.  Jace was so thrilled!  He has been dying to go to school and this is just what I think he needed.  He is so mature about it and his teachers always have good compliments that he obeys and that he is well behaved.
Fridays his school goes to the library to have a book read to them and then they get to check out a book.  Jace choose The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe pop up book.
