Play Group

My blogging has been put on the shelf for most of the month.  It has either been so busy, or I am always forgetting my camera! I made sure that today I brought the camera along for our play group.  I cannot believe how my boys have grown!  Dayton has came leaps and bounds when it comes to playing nice with friends.  He is still hyper but he can play without fighting or hitting for the most part (that is until playing Karate or playing superheros in involved)   Jace is doing great socially.  He really finds it entertaining to play tag with people.  He will instantly touch you, run off and laugh.  Even if you touch him he still keeps on running.  They both kick and scream when it comes to leaving but I guess you can't have it all.  Most importantly..Dayton and Jace are best friends.  They play ALL day and do pretty well when it comes to getting along.   It is so nice to have two boys.  They have so much in common and when they play it makes my job so much easier!

Open For Business

We have officially moved into our new shop here is Rock Springs, Wyoming.   It might just be one of the scariest things that I have ever done in my life.   Our new building is located at 1889 Dewar Drive.   Our new building has a shop, a truck show room, waiting room, play room, office, clean parts storage room, dirty parts storage room, an engine building room and of course the most important part the shop area.   The total square footage is 4,300 sq. ft.  
I now have an extra job added onto my plate.  I work the front desk at the shop everyday from 4-7 and all day on Saturdays.  For the most part if people cannot make show up within our business hours we will do things by appointment. 
Jason has worked at his everyday job now for 12 years and its starting to get old.  The job does pay pretty good but Jason isn't happy. Ever since he owned his first truck he knew he wanted to open up a shop of his own.  There is a lot of doubt from both Jason's and My family whether we are doing the right thing or not.  But our response is...".you never know until you try".  This is a very big, very expensive project that can be a huge loss or a huge profit.  The facts is, there is not a diesel shop like us within a 200 mile radius.  So we ARE needed.  As soon as we get the word out about us hopefully the trucks come.
My kids are OK with the whole shop thing.  They don't love being there and they don't hate it.  Good news is, there are toys there and a TV and a DVD player, as well as a few bikes to keep them entertained.  With time we will have more here to keep them entertained.  But I would way rather have them here with me then sending them off to a day care
So I guess here is to a new year and a new shop!  Wish us luck in our new endeavors! 

New SUV for the New Year.

I actually bought this vehicle on the 30th of December but we didn't get home till 7 and I was exhausted to blog and yesterday was the 31st and it was just Way to busy to blog then.   Since Dayton was introduced into my life I have always told my self that the next vehicle that I would get would either be a Tahoe or a Yukon.   I have never really rode in one....I don't know anyone close who has one...I just wanted one.  I have seen a lot of commercials about the crossover SUV but I never really looked into them further than that.  I knew that 2011 would be the year that I would be buying a new car and I was curious to how to Yukon would drive compared to other vehicles.  With no real big plans on the 30th Jason and I decided to go and look inside of all of the cars on our list and find what we liked.  The roads were in really poor condition with snow and we were sure that the dealership wouldn't let us take any of them for a test drive.  This was fine with us...we didn't plan to buy just yet anyways. 
We compared the Acadia and the Yukon first.  They were sooo similar..ever when it came to room on the inside.  The Yukon was pretty plain and square and the Acadia was rounded and more luxury.  One of the car salesman let us take the Acadia for a test drive.  We jumped in and headed down the road.  We were instantly impressed.  It still had the 2 row of captain chairs and the 3rd row in the back and more storage room behind the 3rd row than the Yukon for storage.  It was AWD and it stuck to the road like a dream.  The suspension was great and it showed that it would get great fuel mileage.  After 45 minutes of a test drive we took it back eager to see how we would like the Yukon. 
The Yukon was nice.  It wasn't fully loaded like what I wanted and it was outrageous in price.  Jason drove first so I was able to look around the car and enjoy being the passenger.  When it was my turn I was instantly scared to drive it because it felt SO big.  Going down the freeway it felt like I was driving a truck. (Which I HATE!)  Even the give on the steering wheel was just like a truck.  It had way more power than I would ever use and when it came to parking it I was freaking out because no where even seemed big enough to park.  I was so disappointed in myself that I had wanted a vehicle like that for so long just to find out that I didn't even like it. 
Of course the salesman went crazy at this point, trying to get me to buy the Acadia.  But the fact of the matter was...They did not have the fully loaded Acadia that I wanted.  They looked for what I wanted online but couldn't find anything in the Nation.   I started looking in the parking lot and I saw a Buick Enclave that was Red and I instantly started to take a closer look.  I instantly figured that it was out of my league and my price range but It was beautiful!  It looked SO close to the Acadia and was the comparable version of it.  The salesman let us take it for the drive and it drove better than any high class car I had even driven in.  I would easily compare it to a Cadillac.  Once we were back I was in love with it.  Even though I didn't want to buy a car that day..they made me a deal that I couldn't resist. 

They offered me $14,000 for my car trade in (it was only worth high $7,000 range) So yes after Jason helped them persuade me I bought the car.  I was freaking scared at first and now I am calmed down and the only thing I have been doing all day is going in the garage to look at my new ride.  I cannot believe that it is mine...all mine!

Happy New Years!!! 2011

Happy New Year 2011, here we come!!!  Out of all the years of being a grown up...I think 2011 has the potential to be one of the hardest and the best all at once. 

-Jason's New Years Resolutions are : To be the best Husband and Dad as possible, making Addicted Performance Diesel successful and loosing 30 LBS.

-My New Years resolutions are : To make family home evenings mandatory once a month, Go to the temple 3 times a year, pay off debt, build a savings, and to walk/run over 550 miles.  (in 2010 I did 540)
-Dayton's was to learn to write and identify the ABC's, and to be nice to his Dad, Mom and Brother.

-Jace's was.....well, I don't know he can't really tell me. But I am sure he will accomplish and learn A LOT!
