Jason's 33rd Birthday

Jason didn't have the greatest 33rd birthday.  Mainly because we spent the entire day in the hosptial with Jace.  There was no time to make a cake and buy him special presents.  We didn't get to go to the movies or go bowling.  We went to applebees for dinner, went and bought some carrot cake and cup cakes from walmart and had a small party at home.  They boys were so excited about lighting a single "3" candle (We lost the other one in the parking lot) and singing happy birthday.    We Love you Jason.  You're the best daddy, husband and friend.  Hopefully next years birthday is a little better.

Jace's Hospital Stay

Jace crashed on his bike a few days ago.  He walked away from it like nothing was wrong so well... we didn't think anything of it.  Over the period of two days he started to limp and complain that his leg hurt.  By the end of the 2nd day he was hysterical and couldn't walk and was miserable.  There was no swelling or anything so we figured it was maybe a broken bone from crashing his bike.    As the night went on Jace became worse and we couldn't calm him down and we figured it was time to run to the ER.    X-Ray after X-ray they all came out alright.  No fractures or anything.  So they admitted him so they could do blood work and do a possible MRI.

Blood work you ask? Well they though Jace's leg pain was leukimia. I was at home with Dayton and Rhett when they started to draw blood. Jason was just worried sick. He said he prayed and prayed and he might have cried just a little bit. Could your life be changed by just blood work? Yes, yes it can. Did our lives change by the outcome of the blood work? nope it didn't and it was the best news of our entire hospital stay. Jace didn't have an infection in his bones and we couldn't be happier.

After blood work was done they still didn't know what was wrong with Jace. They wanted to do an MRI but they decided against it. To do the MRI they was going to have to put Jace under and no matter the results of the MRI the only thing they could tell us to do with Jace was to let him rest and time would heal whatever was wrong. We didn't want to put Jace through all of that either. So we trusted the Doctors and just a few hours later they released us. We still dont know what was wrong with Jace and I don't think we ever will. We will just take him home and let him rest it off.

Out for Lunch. Be back in 30.

Jace, Rhett and I enjoy going out to lunch when Dayton is in school.  We close the shop for a half hour and we get out and relax.   On this particular day Jace wanted ribs and of course Dickies has some of the best ribs in town.  If it doesnt get all over the place it doesnt belong in your face.  Ribs are never a clean venture for 3 yr olds, but they sure taste good!

Whirl Wind of Energy

So you ask what the boys have been up to lately?  A bit of everything really.  They spend time doing tricks, riding bikes, making videos, and play with toys and watching movies.  They are constantly busy.

We are lucky to have the shop in the winter time.  The boys are able to do most things inside that they would normally do outside.  It sure does help the winter time months pass by a lot faster.

Rhett Bug

I turned the camera around on my ipad screen and let Rhett watch himself.  I snapped pictures here and there.  He loved looking at himself.   There were so many smiling pictures but he would get so exicted his hands would fling and all you could see in them was a picture of blurry hands and arms.  He sure is getting big fast!

Still Small Voice Promptings

For my own journaling purposes there is a story that needs to be written down.  Today I was here shop.  Dayton was at school.  Jace was playing as usual.   In our parts storage room I heard the sound of what sounded like paper crunching.  It wasnt a loud sound it was a very ver small sound that you almost had to listen for.  A still small voice told me to go and check it, I brushed it off.  There are lots of sounds that happen in the shop all day.   I was holding Rhett at the front counter and looking at him and I heard it again.  The still small voice told me to check it, I paused, and the still small voice came again almost moving my entire body to the storage room.  I walked quickly because my heart started pumping with the strong promptings.  When I walked into the room Jace had a small 5 inch bubble wrap bag over his head and he was suffocating( the bag came off one the the 5 inch exhaust tips).
The sound of paper cruching was jace scratching the paper trying to get it off so he could breathe.  I tried to pull the bag upward but it was stuck Jace had already sucked in all air and it was suctioned to his face.  I then poked a hole where his mouth was so he could get some air and then I had to start ripping it from his mouth until it was ripped enough to get it off of his head.   Jace was scared.  I was scared.  Jace sat down and cried and I sat there in disbelief of what had just happened.
Had the spirit not prompted me to go and check out the small sound I was hearing... Jace would have suffocated and died.  As I write this, I still cannot believe what happened.   I hear crazy things all day long.  The kids are always playing with paper and coloring.  How easily could I have brushed it off for another 30 seconds or even a minute or 5 minutes for that matter?  It would have been pretty easy.  Jace was already out of air.  He didnt have long at all.
Since this moment my testimony of the holy spirit has strenghtened 10 fold.  The holy spirit lives and because of him I still have my little Jace.  I am so so soo thankful I listened and that everything is all right.  I am simply grateful.

Rhetts 2 Month Dr. Appointment

My boys are obsessed with my phone and its a good thing because they were able to catch pictures of me and Rhett at his 2 month Dr. Appointment.   Rhett checked out great.  He is in the 2nd percentile for weight, height and head.  The doctors want to see him above the 10th percentile in the future but there isn't much we can do about it right now.  He is eating really good and that is all we can ask for.

Rhetts Bumbo

I have loved having a bumbo for my babies.  They love being able to sit up and see whats going on.  It works out so nice here at work when I can constantly hold Rhett.   This was a picture of him sitting in it for the very first time.  It took a few minutes to warm up to it and then he was more that content.   The other day I was able to leave him in it for over an hour and he was just as happy as could be.

Announcing Blake Michael Herbert!

On January 15th my sister Stacee had a beautiful baby boy.  Blake Michael Herbert.  He weighed 8lbs 14 oz and was 20 inches long.
Here are the two cousins on their very first meeting.  I think they might like each other!!  Its gonna be so fun have boys the same age growing up together.  I cant wait for Megan to have her baby boy.   Congrats Stacee!  He sure is a cutie!

Rhett is 2 Months Old

My little Rhetter Bug is 2 months old today!!  crazy how fast time flies
He is startin to coo more often and smile when you talk to him.  He will watch will the boys play and if I move around the room his head will turn as he watches me where ever I go.

Dayton is Dyslexic

Have I ever mentioned that Dayton is Dyslexic?   Well here is the proof.  I am always trying to work with him on it.  He has been writing his name like this off and on for over a year and a half.   As soon as I remind him he instantly can switch and write it the right way.  He is such a cute little stinker!

Rhetts Baby Blessing.

We Blessed Rhett on January 6th 2013.    It was kinda a last minute thing.  We looked at the calendar and in the months ahead we couldn't find a good date so we picked to do it on Jan. 6th when the date was Jan. 3rd.  I had to have my sisters run around Utah and Salt Lake counties to find Rhett a blessing outfit.(Jace's baby blessing outfit was ruined when I pulled it out)
Rhett was 7 1/2 weeks old and weighed in at 8 lbs 8 oz.  Jason gave him a beautiful blessing.  Rhett was blessed with good health, to be an example, to find a girl with his values and marry in the temple as well as a few other things.
we tried to snap a family photo but in all of them jace wouldn't open his eyes or turn his head our way or Dayton was being a goof ball.  Oh well I guess.  That's life.
At least I can smile and get a picture without being a dork sometimes.  And Rhett was in a pretty good mood too for pictures!  Rhett we love you so much and we are so thankful to have you in our family forever!

Dayton ER Again.

Around 2 AM the day of Rhetts baby blessing.  Because of a cold, Dayton developed croupe and his throat closed off again.  We spent almost 3 hours in the ER getting Dayton treated.  It made for a short night and super tired parents for the rest of the day.  After Dayton was treated his cold diminished and he hasnt had another coughing episode since.
