Day after Christmas Shopping!

Shaelynn ended up staying with us for a few days after Christmas.  We started of the 26th with going to movies to see "We bought a Zoo".  Followed by shopping  because of all the great deals out there!  I bought Jace a shirt, Dayton a pair of Levi's, Me new ornaments for the tree, and I bought shae 2 outfits.   It felt great to get stuff for such great deals!!

Christmas Day 2011

I had to get up extra early to see if Santa had came yet, and my suspicions were correct and he came.
He sure did spoil us this year

This is the gift that Jason, Jace and I gave to Dayton.   A rock crawler remote controlled car
Jace got a Tractor and 4 horses from Jason, Dayton and I.
Jace with all of his loot
Dayton with all of his loot
Dad, Kari and Shaelynn came up on Christmas Day to visit us.  We couldnt be more please to have visitors with us on Christmas!

Just before Bed

We read the traditional "The Night Before Christmas",

Enjoyed some being tossed in the air really high,

and a pillow fight and them some dancing until we were completely wore out!

Christmas Eve Feast

We had a beautiful Christmas Eve dinner.  The prime rib was cooked till a perfect 135 Degrees (in the center) for a Rare cut.  It was tender and delicious.  It cut like butter and had a great flavor!  Everything else just all fell into place.  Not one thing went wrong and everything was perfect!

Relaxing on Christmas Eve

We had a very relaxing Christmas Eve.  Here we are watching Christmas Vacation.  Classic!

Gingerbread houses 2011

We had a good sized group with us on Christmas eve to do our gingerbread houses.  We all just bought the pre made store kind.  The icing was horrible!! It would never harden or dry so the houses wouldn't hold up.  We had good laughs about it though.  (especially about rick and Cathy's house ((the tree outside is what ended up holding their roof together)))
from left to right started with 1)Crystals, 2)Chris's, 3) Jason's 4)Rick and Cathy's, 5) mine and Dayton's.  The train was Dayton's and Jace's.

Stick horses

The kids recieved stick horses from Grandpa and Grandma Stott.  They love them and its been really fun to see them riding them around.

Christmas Lights Looking

We took the kids to go and see the Christmas lights.  Instantly Dayton was bored and wanted to go home. Jace just watched out his window contently.  I found it odd.  Shouldn't that be the other way around??  Jace screaming to go home and Dayton sitting contently?
Either way though we still enjoyed (partially) another family Christmas activity.

We Were Swingin'

On the night of the 22nd we had Christmas music playing and we all just started to dance.  We danced for close to an hour before we were so tired that we couldn't shimmy any longer.
It was one of those nights where at glimpses time would just stand still and were just happy and dancing.
Dayton and Jace got a kick out of us copying their dance moves, and then they would try to copy ours.

Santa and the Kids 2011

The kids were so exicted to see Santa this year.  Jace was even excited.  Dayton let Santa know that he wanted a Kitchen and transformer set.  And Jace told Santa he wanted a horse and a car.

Sequences

Macade gave Dayton and Jace some large Legos for Christmas.  They boys love them.  I am not sure when kids learn to do sequences but I would think its something they learn in preschool??? (at least that is the kinda of stuff Dayton brings home from his preschool) I dunno... but I found it more than interesting that when Jace plays with legos he does color sequences.  First he did it with the red, green and blue stack... then he did it again with the orange, yellow and blue stack.  Proving that it wasn't a coincidence that he was actually doing a pattern.(which I have never sat down and taught him and he doesn't really watch educational cartoons either)  Kinda a smart little bugger!  It will be interesting to see how he fares out in school.  It seems like everything Jace does it exceeds what Dayton learned at that age.
Dayton like to build robots and cars and ramps out his legos.

BMX Racing

Jason following behind Jace as he races to make sure Jace doesn't crash.
Dayton taking the inside of the corning giving him an edge on his race

Jace attempting to ride Dayton big bike without training wheels (he is actually getting close!)
Dayton doing what only can be described as a "Shaelynn Pose"

After Dicks wedding we headed to the Races in South Jordan.   Dayton took 2nd place in the 2nd heat and made it into the main event.  During the main event he won 6th place.  pretty good considering that he made it 6th out of 18 kids.   Jace also raced and went all by himself.  He won first place and we are so proud.  He is gonna be a good little biker.  Congrats boys!

Temple Square/ Unlce Dicks Wedding

This past weekend we headed down for Jason's Uncle Dicks Wedding.  It was so amazing!.  It was his first time getting married and while he was there his son Andrew was sealed to Dick and Emily.  It was wonderful to be at temple square during this Christmas season.  It was awesome to have the day centered around forever families and the gospel.
Here is Dick and Emily as they came out of the temple.
The kids in front of the statue of Christ.  (it was their favorite part)
All the kids at the wedding reception with the Bride and Groom.

Jace's new BIG BOY bed!

While Jason was trying to snuggle Jace on his baby crib/toddler bed... the bed broke in half and so it was due time to get Jace into a big boy bed.  He has been so excited about it that he sleeps in his rooms all night long and he tries to play sleeping all morning while I am trying to get the kids ready and the house cleaned before I try to go to work.   John Paras actually had this bed in their sidewalk sale.  It is beautiful!  My baby is growing up so fast!  ):

BMX Race weekend #3

I have been super slacking in my blogging skills.  The whole thanksgiving holiday put me very behind in my work at the shop as well as my work at home.  I am not even caught all the way up and its been almost 2 weeks!!
Last weekend we had another bmx race here in Rock Springs.  Dayton, Jace and Shae raced.  Dayton placed 2nd, Jace placed 1st and Shae placed 2nd.
Dayton had a hard time focusing at the races on Sunday.  He would coast and look around peddle once or twice, coast some more, lolli-gag!  It was super frusterating!! We were all screaming PEDDLE!!  he almost lost but he almost came out of his daze and finished 2nd.
Jace is turning out to be really competitive.  He loves to ride bikes like Dayton. We started letting Jace race all by himself and not push him but let him figure out the whole "race" thing.
I forgot to bring my good camera and my old camera is starting to die so I only was able to take pictures of Jace's race and not of Daytons.  I will do better next time.
On the side note......Jace is saying a new word. "YES"  except for when he says it it says it with a long dragging "s" so it would so like this "yessssssssss"  almost with a snake hiss at the end.   Its hiliarious!

Sandhollow over Thanksgiving weekend

We went to sandhollow on Friday and then back again on Saturday.  We had fun.....now that I think of it... we ALWAYS have fun!
The weather was perfect.  low to mid 60's almost the entire time.  It was nice that we could wear light jackets almost the entire time.

We brought along Ethan, Dave and Janells oldest son.  He was at first scared of everything but as the day progressed on he started to have fun.
